In any case, while I did set out with the intention to kill, I didn't have any intention to make it was much of a spectacle as it became. I went to the market, intending to use one of the wands to transform whomever I came across into something that couldn't feel pain, and to end things while they were in that form. I did not expect there to be two of them.
Though I've not known Vi for long, she does not seem the type to sit idly by when another is in danger. Did she try to stop you, and to recover Megumi so that he might not suffer such a fate?
Not immediately. One of the potions fell and transformed her into a dog. She transformed back after I had scattered the pieces and moved to attack me, but before we could really fight, the area around us began to... react. More potions fell, and none of us was able to really land a blow on the other. She turned into a mushroom and started to float - I was hit by one and began to float as well.
She took one of the pieces with her, I think I managed to land a glancing blow on her at one point while we were in the air, but then we landed at the stage and things went... very wrong.
... 'twas already too late for the boy, then, if you had managed to scatter the pieces. [ because that's what he was, no matter what powers he had or his experiences. just a teenage boy. ]
And you tried to make it quick for her, after she had been trapped beneath the rubble. But she fought back, or at the very least struggled, given the anger that she died wearing.
[by the time vi was no longer a dog, megumi was dead. nathalie really hopes that this place didn't make it possible for cheese to feel pain.]
She attacked me on the stage, but missed. She hit the stage and snapped a wire, which overloaded the animatronics. They exploded, and hit one of the lights. It fell, and hit the monkey, and the cymbals went off, and the vibrations... must have been just enough to damage set the rest in motion, beacuse that's when it all collapsed on her. I was out of range of it.
She was bleeding out, and in great pain. And she was furious, yes. [as she had every right to be.] I didn't want her to be in pain any more than I'd wanted him to be in pain, though. [she taps the sides of her neck.] These arteries here - if you put pressure on them, it will cause unconsciousness. Once she was out and wouldn't feel it, I dealt the blow.
[ she listens, now, instead of prompting with questions, her stance never changing. she has some... thoughts, but she's reminded of the sanctoress of martira, the kindness in her that was overshadowed by the horrendous acts she had committed. it isn't the same - hardly so - but there is something that lingers like it. ]
They were two deaths with intention, killings rather than accidents, and yet... Justice still died. 'Twas not a kindness, taking the lives that you did.
What do you feel, now, of the premonition that you had?

[she frowns.]

[her brow furrows.]
I still believe it was the only way to stop those deaths. It should have worked, so why didn't it...?
