[ They miss being human-sized sometimes, but those days are behind them now. ]

I'm always available to help. [ Not that they're always "available", but on this little deathtrap of an island, they are. ]

Do you believe in sacrifices? It didn't seem to help much.

... no. No, I do not. Not after I have seen the results of sacrifices in Euchronia in all of their rot and glory. They never have helped anyone except those that it becomes self-serving for.

[ They're quiet for a moment, considering, as if they're digging through their memory. ]

I'm unfamiliar with sacrifices and rituals personally. I'd like to believe people are better than killing each other for a chance to survive.

[ Not everyone agrees with them, but that's alright. ]

'Twas something I was once not familiar with, either. But... over recent months, it has become abundantly clear that many in power in our nation would use the lives of others as stepping stones for their own gain.

[ she shakes her head. ]

I would like to believe the same as you. I would hope for it.

People are people, whatever they look like, wherever they are.

I can't help but wish for people's better nature to win out.

[They've been proven wrong several times, but that's okay.]

You and I are alike, in this. [ small mercies, to find another knight who believes in people. ] Our goal in Euchronia, in our group, is to change it for the better - with as little life lost as possible, and the betterment of those that suffer.

'Tis why I have a hard time with believing such madness as truth. That it will cost more lives to save them.

I hope that you'll be able to achieve your noble goals. [They won't be able to see the world they've left behind, but the children seem to be kind, if occasionally misguided. Such is the folly of youth.
